A Big Thank You!
Thank you to all that have supported me in this campaign.
Your support has been extremely humbling and I would certainly have not been able to have done it without you. Many of you e-mailed, telephoned, and spoke to me to ask "How can I help? Can I deliver leaflets for you?"
To have people, albeit strangers at first, (who have become friends) to offer their help like that is amazing and says something about the people of Derbyshire. Thank you.
The results were encouraging as I was only circa. 9500 votes short on the first preference votes which meant I could not go through to the second round. What was very noticable and striking was the number of second preference votes which could have meant a victory for this campaign as they were extremely high.
However, it was not meant to be and I congratulate the winner. I will watching with interest, as I hope you will be, and I shall also be taking part in holding our new PCC to account to ensure that Derbyshires needs are first & foremost taken into account before any party political interests. Remember - only 6% of the electorate voted for our party political elected PCC.
Thank you once again for your help and I look forward in seeing how our current elected PCC performs over the next three and a half years and will offer any help asked of me to make Derbyshire a safer place for all.
